Assist Life Stages and Transition

Transitioning to a new stage of life can be a challenge. That’s why First Light Care Services are here to assist participants through life transitions. There are many life stage transitions we can help with – including starting or changing school, moving home or into supported accommodation and even getting out and about in the community more.

We support participants to plan for change, including developing strategies to cope with the stress that change can have. Our approach is individualised for each participant, taking into account their abilities and needs. All of this is to help participants achieve their goals both in the short term and long term.

Some of the support we provide includes the preparation of schedules (daily, weekly and/or longer term). This is to help make sure that the support being provided is assisting a participant’s life stage transition goals. We can also help with the budgeting process so that expenses are planned for and paid for when due.

Our assistance with life change transition includes short and long-term supports. The focus is on strengthening the participant’s ability to coordinate their supports, and to assist them to live comfortably and participate in their community.
